Thursday, 15 August 2013
"I hope that the solemn commemoration of the Pramuka (National Scouts) Movement can be a momentum to increase the role and activities of Pramuka as a scout organization in building future generations who have characters, personality and a solid national identity," said President Yudhoyono when attending the 52nd Anniversary of Pramuka on Wednesday,  14 August 2013, at Gajah Mada field, Cibubur, Jakarta. He also wished a Happy Eid ul-Fitr as well as happy 52nd Anniversary of the Indonesian Pramuka to the members, leaders, administrators, coaches of Pramuka both at home and its representatives abroad.

President Yudhoyono said that this year's anniversary, which adopted the theme "Realizing a nation with characters and dignity through Pramuka movement", is an appropriate theme because to create a nation with characters and dignity, it must be initiated at an early stage.

President Yudhoyono added that "Pramuka movement will always be developed through the Pramuka Movement Revitalization program, aimed at strengthening commitments of the young generations for the four basic consensus of our nation: Pancasila (state ideology), the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhineka Tunggal Ika (the state moto meaning Unity in Diversity)."

On that occasion, President Yudhoyono also called on members of Pramuka both at the national and regional levels to continue developing Pramuka-related education all over the country. He also called on the ministers of the Second United Indonesia Cabinet to continue giving their supports for the development of Pramuka.

President Yudhoyono also extended his congratulations and high appreciation to the recipients of the awards for their merits and dedication in developing Pramuka activities all over the country.

Those in attendance of the event were Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare, chairmen of State Institutions, ministers of the Second United Indonesia Cabinet, ambassadors of friendly countries, and Jakarta Governor.
