Your Excellency, President Benigno Aquino,
Distinguished Guests,
Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are gathered here to witness a conferment of the Adipurna Star to the President of the Philippines, His Excellency, Benigno Aquino.This Award is the Highest Honour given by the Government of Indonesia to a foreign national.
His Excellency of President Aquino has made significant contribution to the strengthening of our bilateral cooperations in various fileds. His commitment to promote the bilateral relation have opened up many new opportunities for our two countries. In economic sectors for example, we had an average annual increase of 10.90 percent in the past five years. Â And our total bilateral trade last year was USD 4.5 billion. I am sure that this remarkable achievement will only increase in the future. Â
His Excellency, President Aquino served my conviction that outstanding border issues between our two countries can be result peacefully through negotiation. Therefore, I am trully pleased that in May 2014, we have sealed an agreement on the Exclusive Economic Zone Boundary Line.
His Excellency dedication for the cost of peace to respond to the separatist movement in the Southern of the Philippines, is also evident by the attainment of the comprehensive agreement of Bangsa Moro. Indonesia is proud that at the invitation of your government, and the Moro of Islamic Liberation Front, we have been actively participating as a member of international monitoring team in Mindanao since 2012. I am confident that building on that agreement your country will be able to sustain lasting peace.
Our two countries has also closely work together in various regional and interregional forums, especially ASEAN. Â We appreciate the roles and contributions of the Philippines toward the realization of the 2015 ASEAN Community.
I must say, Indonesia look forward to further our cooperation with the Philippines within the framework of ASEAN Community. I believe that together we can build a stronger ASEAN based on mutual friendship and common values.
Therefore, I am truly pleased to confer the Adipura Star of the Republic of Indonesia to His Excellency Benigno Aquino, as a recognition of his immense contribution to the promotion of bilateral relation between our two countries, as well as toward regional cooperations and stability.
